Megaherz live in the "Falkendom"

April 26, 2002 - Bielefeld

I read in the morning on .de-site that Alex would have some trouble with his throat and so I called the office askin' whether the Gig would take place....Yes, no negative news ;-). The woman also told me that it was goin' to be a long evening as entrance was scheduled for 21.30, beginning with two support bands.

However, I left home 2 hours earlier as I knew it would take me an hour to get there and, also for the reason that I don't come to Bielefeld that often, I might get lost in that city. Lucky me that the Tourbus is big enough, so I've finally found the "Falkendom" after driving in circles for almost half an hour - that club is so small and perfectly hidden in a side-road....Well, got out of the car, went straight to the entrance and met X-Ti as he was on the way back to the Bus. We talked for a while and then I got in, giving everybody a big, fat hello and some cuddles. Although it wasn't sold out the air was already stuffy in there, due to the reason that it is really a small location.

Around 21.00 (what a brilliant time schedule...) the first Band went on stage and opened the evening. It was a local one, called "Wucht" - they've been playin' quite a good crossover with rap and normal vocals, way like RATM or POD do (of course not that perfect, just the way) and I'm sure I'll buy their CD if possible. Next opener were "Reizwolf" which already played with Mhz in Hanover as "Zombie Joe" wouldn't be part of the whole tour.

Around 23.00 came "our" guys on stage and opened the gig with "Heute schon gelebt?". It was pure fun and the next 1 3/4 hours were filled with a brilliant variety of the actual "Herzwerk II" and the older songs. I'm not good at rememberin' playlists, but I think it was the one you already know from other reviews. It's amazing that they played the whole bunch of their songs as Al really had trouble with his voice and he was close to losing it! The only thing I can say about this is: RESPECT! And in the middle of the first encore came around what had to come around: his voice vanished for a moment - but thank the Lord, just for a moment. Oh, and hey, he changed his clothes for the encore - he was dressed like a pilot in a fantasy uniform. Have a guess at what they played *g*. Yes: Himmelfahrt :o).

When time came for another break (trust me, they didn't only deserve it - they must have been in an urgent need of it...I was already sweatin' and my clothes were stickin' on me like glue - how must it have been for the Band underneath a spotlight???), the audience didn't give up screamin' for more and so Jürgen and Wenz went back on stage again. They started to play again, just the two of them. Gosh, what a rhythm!!! It made you wanna dance, whether you were wasted or not. It took 3 or 4 Minutes 'til the other guys returned and it was more than hot to hear "Kopfschuß" in this Rap/Acapella version!!! It's what I would call a perfect shot! And unfortunately it was the end of the concert.

I told you that it wasn't the full two hour concert, I've been missing 3 songs: "Hand auf's Herz", "An deinem Grab" and "Spiel nicht". At least I can't moan for I've enjoyed another unforgettable Concert.
