Megaherz live in the "Garage"
April 30, 2001 - Munich
As you already know, it started a bit later, due to the problems with the electricity. Lucky us, they've finally fixed it and Megaherz came on stage. Alexx welcomed a very well mooded audience and told us also that the gig would be live on Radio - including the hint who would pay for his breakfast the next days, well, that's the problem when you put more people on guestlists than on ticketseller ;-).
They've opened the show with "Du oder ich" - brilliant idea!!! The people started to dance immediately and I knew, why I plugged my ears ;-). The "Garage" is quite small and very dark, unfortunately suffered the sound a bit, although there were boxes everywhere. Probably that's why it suffered, I don't know. Nevertheless was the audience in a brilliant temper and it kept heatin up within the following 2 1/2 hours. Thanx to Alexx we didn't forget about the radioshow... ;-)
When Alexx said: "This one's for you girls", everyone knew what had to follow right now - Miststück! He called out for Noel (Betsy told you we saw him at the entrance) and Noel climbed on stage. Better said: he has fallen on stage (did I tell you how dark it's in there???) and Alexx couldn't hesitate: "Like in old times, Noel - feel free to destroy everything". No problem - he came back on his feet, griped a guitar and gave Olli a little break (I think this was more than welcomed ;-) ).
Matzke Jablonski (Twelve after elf - next hint by Alexx, their CD is still available *g*) was also invited to come on stage, as he sang the second voice on "Windkind" and "Rappunzel". It took a while 'til he was able to reach the stage through all the people and for a moment I thought, he won't come. Well, next time we should think about lifting him up and make him stagediving the opposite way, lol.
When "Herz aus Stein" came up to play, Alexx went to the side, took one of Ingo's stonehearts and showed, what this looks like. Next song was "Falsche Götter" and Alexx tried to make the people pray. *Clearthroat* As we're all spending our time in churches it's needless to say how this ended...*shame*
Almost at the end they've played "Hänschenklein" - very, very fast! "Hey guys, we've never been that quick before" said Alexx. I don't think that anyone will doubt that...
The Highlight indeed was "Zu den Sternen" which Alexx introduced like:"We've played this only once. No matter how it sounds - you'll have to get through it!". I'm still not sure, whether this was a warning or a threat, lol. But from what I've heard I think this song definately rocks, even if it's played in a raw version.
I surely had a great time and now I'm thinkin about to leave for a second time on 4th August in Schmölln. I want to thank John for everything, Betsy for comin over (see you next year, hun!!) and especially MHz for this great evening!!!
Hugs,
Fraggle
